Corona furore in China, 10 lakh deaths estimated, India said – we are not affected
The country from where Corona started, and which first claimed to make Corona vaccine, today millions of people are feared to be in the grip of Corona in the same country. According to a recent research, corona is spreading very fast in China and one million people may die within three months. On the other hand, according to the research of the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, by April there may be 3 lakh 22 thousand deaths due to corona infection in China. Apart from this, by the end of 2023, this figure can be more than 1 million. American scientist and epidemiologist Eric Feigel-Ding warned that in 90 days 60% of China’s population and 10% of the world’s people would be infected with Corona. Big cities like Shanghai and Beijing are once again witnessing a spurt in corona cases.
India keeping a watchful eye on the situation
Indian agencies are also keeping a close watch on the situation in China. However, the health department believes that there is no possibility of corona spreading again in India. COVID-19 Working Group Chairman N.K. Arora told that all the variants of corona spread across the world are present in India and there is less scope for any new variant to spread. On the other hand, all the people above 18 years of age have been vaccinated in India. Along with this, herd immunity has also been formed against Corona.
Cases increased after relaxation
In the same month, China has given some relaxation in its zero covid policy. The government had to take this decision after protests in different cities including Xinjiang, Beijing. Rules like strict lockdown and mass testing were in force for almost three years, but now it has been relaxed a bit. Now experts say that the worst phase of Corona, which has wreaked havoc all over the world, is yet to come in China. The reason for this is that the level of vaccination is low in a country with a population of more than 140 crores. Apart from this, the condition of herd immunity could not be created, because the infection was less spread.
Worrying situation in China
Funeral rites are being performed 24 hours a day in crematoriums in Beijing. Many such videos have appeared on social media, in which hospitals are seen crowded and corpses are piling up. On the other hand, there is a lot of anger among the public because of the strictness of the zero covid policy. In such a situation, the Chinese administration is neither able to impose lockdown nor is it able to stop the spreading Covid infection. According to China, so far only 5,235 people have died officially from Corona. By the way, China has been hiding the figures of deaths till now. In such a situation, this number can be much higher.
