Minister’s claim all eligible people will get ration card in Uttarakhand by December 31

Food Minister Rekha Arya held a meeting with departmental officers and district supply officers of all districts regarding important issues of the Food Department. In the meeting, the minister took information from the concerned officials about the progress report of the schemes being run by the department (dehradun food department meeting). The officials informed the departmental minister about the ineligible no, eligible yes, Antyodaya families getting three gas cylinders, ration being distributed through biometric and online medium, supply of paddy in paddy procurement centres.

During this, Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya said that the officers have been given clear guidelines regarding many subjects. In which till December 31, all the District Supply Officers should ensure that the persons who have surrendered their ration cards in their district, all those officers should make ration cards available to the eligible people by this date. Also, remove the practical problems coming in it as soon as possible.

During this, the Food Minister also got information about the ration being given through biometric and online medium. He said that the condition of most of the districts is definitely satisfactory, but there are some places in hilly districts where there is network problem. There people should not be deprived of ration. Plains districts where there is no such problem, those districts should make sure to give ration 100 percent online and through biometric.

At the same time, regarding the three gas cylinders being run by the department for Antyodaya families in a year, the cabinet minister directed all the district supply officers that all the Antyodaya families should get the benefit of this scheme. All the officers should make a detailed report and inform the higher officials about the reasons for which they are not getting the gas refilled. He said that this is a public welfare scheme of the government, under which we give three gas cylinders in a year, which are given at an interval of four months. Antyodaya families should get the benefit of this at any cost. No eligible person should be left out of this scheme.

Describing about paddy procurement, Food Minister Rekha Arya said that we had got a target of about 9 lakh metric tonnes. Relative to which we have achieved about 96 percent of the target. We will complete the remaining target by the end of December. Along with this, it is said many times through the farmers that this time the yield of paddy has increased. In such a situation, instructions were given to the officers to make arrangements for taking paddy from them. During this, the cabinet minister said about the ration dealers that it is our endeavor to prepare a detailed report on how we can strengthen them.
