Secretary Health issued show cause notices to the CMOs of four districts on the delay in the process of posting Community Health Officers (CHOs) in Health and Wellness Centers. Under the National Health Mission, 1800 health wellness centers are to be set up in the state. CHOs are to be appointed at these centres. The recruitment process was done for 664 posts of CHO through Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Medical University. In which the written examination was taken on 20 November. In Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Pauri and Rudraprayag districts, the process of council has not yet been started for the appointment of CHO.
On this, Secretary Health Dr. R.K. Rajesh Kumar has issued a show cause notice to the CMOs of all the four districts seeking their answers. 26 CHOs are to be appointed in Dehradun district, 125 in Pauri, nine in Rudraprayag and 41 in Uttarkashi district. The health department has fixed a program to distribute appointment letters to CHOs through Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on December 23, but taking cognizance of the delay in the council in four districts, the government has summoned the response from the CMOs.
