Uttarakhand: CM Dhami inaugurates Police Week, discusses tackling challenges and creating law and order

State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the police week by reaching the police headquarters. During this, senior police officers including DGP Ashok Kumar, ADG Law and Order V. Murugesan were present. In the Chintan Manthan program, which runs from December 22 to December 25, there will be discussions to solve the challenges faced by the police and to make the police better law and order in the coming times. In this, discussions will not only be held from police constables to top officials, but complaints and suggestions related to the public will also be taken. The Uttarakhand Police Week program to be held from December 22 to December 25 has begun. At the beginning of the program, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the police headquarters. Where he held a meeting with other officers including DGP Ashok Kumar and reviewed the works and discussed future plans to improve law and order. During this, he brainstormed on the challenges faced by the police and also on its solutions and insisted on overcoming it unitedly.
PRD jawans will do police duty
During the Police Week programme, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that recruitment will be done soon on 4000 vacant posts in the police department. Efforts will be made to complete these recruitments by 2023. It will take about 1 year to complete the recruitment. Meanwhile, in view of the shortage of police personnel, temporary arrangements have been made for the police duty of PRD personnel. Chief Minister Dhami said that the lack of budget will not be allowed for police modernization and necessary resources for establishing better law and order in the state.
Welcoming the decision of the High Court in the Ankit murder case
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed the decision to reject the demand for a CBI inquiry into the Ankita murder case. He said that the manner in which the SIT has collected sufficient evidence in this matter so far, conducted a strong investigation and presented the charge sheet in the court, is a commendable work in this case. The Chief Minister clearly said that from day one, our police is determined to investigate the matter in a fair and transparent manner and get the accused punished severely.
Corona is not gone yet
On the other hand, seeing the threat of Corona once again, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the government is making all the arrangements at its level. Any kind of negligence will not be tolerated in this. We are meeting with the concerned departments to prevent corona and to maintain the system related to it. In this meeting of COVID, the officers related to the medical field will give their suggestions and the same will be implemented further. CM Dhami said that one has to be careful with the corona virus. Whatever guidelines the government will give, everyone will have to follow it. Everyone has to win this battle together.
Shortage of more than 4000 jawans in police department
DGP Ashok Kumar has said that at present there is a shortage of more than 4000 policemen in the state. Due to this shortage, the policemen have to do duty more than the prescribed time. Therefore, temporary arrangements are being made for PRD jawans. With this, the soldiers will also get employment and the police department will also get help.
