1- India became the 5th largest economy in the world:
In 2022, India has achieved the title of becoming the 5th largest economy in the world leaving Britain behind. The Indian economy became the 5th largest economy in the world at $854.7 billion in the March quarter. At the same time, Britain’s economy reached number six with $ 816 billion. Modi government’s economic policies had a big contribution behind this success of India. Economy experts believe that by 2027, India will become the fourth largest economy in the world leaving behind Germany. In terms of economy, at present America, China, Japan, Germany and India are included in the top-5 countries of the world.
2- India’s new flight in space:
In 2022, India made a different place in the world by taking a giant leap in the field of space. On November 18, 2022, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) launched the country’s first private rocket ‘Vikram-S’. The private rocket, built by Hyderabad-based space startup Skyroot Aerospace, was launched from the Harikota launch pad in Andhra Pradesh of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). After this launch, India joined the club of countries like America, Russia, Japan, China and France, which send rockets of private companies into space. 3 – Getting the presidency of G-20:
In 2022, India got the presidency of the G20, an organization of the world’s 20 most powerful countries. Indonesian President Joko Widodo officially handed over the G-20 chairmanship to Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on November 16, 2022. After this, on December 1, 2022, India formally became the chairman of the G-20. Explain that the next G-20 conference will be held in New Delhi in September 2023. 4 – Presidency of UNSC:
In the year 2022, India also got the chairmanship of UNSC. India became the President of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the second time in its two-year term in December 2022. From December 1, 2022, India will be the President of the UNSC for the next one month. Please tell that at present India is a temporary member of the UNSC. India begins its two-year term as a non-permanent member of the UNSC in January 2021. This was India’s eighth term in the UNSC. Let us tell you that the presidency of UNSC keeps changing every month. 5 – Presidency of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) :
On September 16, 2022, India got the chairmanship of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). In September 2022, Uzbekistan handed over the command of SCO to India in Samarkand. India will remain its chairman till 2023. Explain that there are 8 full-time members of the SCO formed in 2001. Apart from India, the members of this organization include 8 countries like China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan. 6- The Australian Parliament approved the Free Trade Agreement with India:
On November 22, 2022, the Australian Parliament approved the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with India. This will further strengthen India-Australia relations. After full implementation of the FTA between India and Australia, 96% of India’s exports to Australia and 85% of Australia’s exports to India will be duty free. After the implementation of FTA, the production cost of the two countries between which this agreement is made becomes much cheaper than the rest of the countries. This is the reason why many countries around the world are taking steps towards free trade agreement among themselves. Once the FTA comes into force, over 6,000 Indian products including textiles, leather, furniture, jewelery and machinery will get duty-free access to the Australian market.
7- UNSC-CTC meeting in India:
A two-day special meeting of the United Nations Security Council’s Counter-Terrorism Committee (UNSC-CTC) took place in India. The meeting began on 28 October from the city of Mumbai in India. The second day session of the meeting took place in New Delhi on 29 October. This was the first time since 2015 that the meeting of the United Nations Counter Terrorism Committee (CTC) was held in India outside the headquarters in New York. It is a big success in itself for India to host the event to prepare a future strategy against terrorism.
