Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to work hours after performing the last rites of his mother Hiraba. PM Modi flagged off West Bengal’s first Vande Bharat Express through video conferencing. Also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several projects. PM Modi flagged off the Vande Bharat Express connecting Howrah to New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal through video conferencing. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and other leaders were present at the event in Howrah.

Mamta Banerjee gave advice to PM Modi

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee expressed condolences to PM Modi on the demise of mother Heeraben Modi during a program in Howrah. He said that your mother is like our mother. During the program, Mamta Banerjee also advised PM Modi to rest. Mamta Banerjee said that may God give you the strength to continue your work, please take some rest. Mamta Banerjee said that today is a sad day and a big loss for you (Prime Minister Narendra Modi). I pray to God, may God give you strength. Mamta Banerjee said that you were about to come to West Bengal, but due to the demise of your mother, you could not come, but joined virtually, I thank you for this.

PM Modi was going to visit West Bengal today

The Prime Minister was scheduled to visit West Bengal to launch development projects including flagging off the Vande Bharat Express in Kolkata and attend a meeting of the National Ganga Council. His program includes laying the foundation stone for projects worth over 7,800 crores in the state of West Bengal. His scheduled program in West Bengal today also includes flagging off West Bengal’s first Vande Bharat Express connecting Howrah and New Jalpaiguri. As per his schedule, he will inaugurate the Joka-Taratla section of the Purple Line of the Kolkata Metro along with a few other projects.
