Maharashtra : Lift fell from 25th floor in Mumbai, 3 injured came out; 20 year old youth was trapped, died while being taken to hospital

The lift fell from the 25th floor in Mumbai on Wednesday. A 20-year-old youth died in the accident, while three people were injured. According to media reports, the incident took place in the afternoon at Siddhivinayak Society located in Vikhroli. There were four people in the lift, as soon as the lift fell on the ground floor, the people present there informed the fire department.

The fire brigade team opened the door of the lift after about an hour’s effort. After this, three people came out of the lift in an injured condition, but the 20-year-old man remained trapped in the lift. The team pulled him out of the lift. The condition of the young man was very critical, the team immediately rushed him to Rajawadi Hospital. Where the doctors declared him dead.

Lift work in progress, no engineer present
Firoz Khan, a resident of the society, said that the building was built under the initiative of the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA). We lived in the same building. Builder is making elevated parking on 23rd level. The accident happened when the lift was being worked on. No engineer was present at the site at the time of the accident. SRA should take action in this matter. We have written a letter to the local police station demanding strict action.
