Cracks in 678 houses due to landslide in Joshimath, CM Dhami held a meeting with NDMA officials, cracks of 2 inches increased to 8-9 inches

The incident of landslide in Joshimath of Uttarakhand has increased everyone’s concern. The Uttarakhand government and administration have declared Joshimath area as a disaster prone area. Till now, cracks have appeared in 678 houses due to the incident of subsidence. Earlier this number was 561. At the same time, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has held an important meeting with the officials of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) at the CM camp office regarding the Joshimath case.
Let us tell you that on the current situation of Joshimath, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), Geological Survey of India, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, National Institute of Hydrology and Central Building Research Institute. The team of experts will conduct the survey and submit its report to the government. At the same time, CM Dhami said that some places have also been identified in Peepal Koti and Gauchar. There, after the land survey, if everything is correct then people will be rehabilitated. Work is being done in this direction.
The situation in Joshimath is getting worse every day. Now the cracks are taking a more frightening form than before. The cracks which were only two inches earlier have now increased to 8-9 inches. The possibility of collapse of two hotels (Malari Inn and Mountain View) has also been raised. It is believed that both the hotels will collapse by next week. People are being shifted from vulnerable places to safer places.
Apart from this, the administration team in Joshimath city is surveying and marking the unsafe houses and putting red cross marks on those houses. It is being told that these houses will be demolished soon. Many teams of the Center have also reached Joshimath, which are continuously surveying and preparing their report. Tomorrow on January 10, Union Minister Rajnath Singh will also visit Joshimath.
