Joshimath in Uttarakhand is under threat of land slide. The panic there is increasing with each passing day. Till now cracks have appeared in more than 600 houses. People are being taken to safer places. Giving information about this, CM Dhami said that all the people in Joshimath are busy at work. People in 68 houses which are in danger have been shifted to safer places.

Regarding the situation arising out of landslide in Joshimath, CM Dhami said that “I have requested everyone that this is the time to work together. People are also engaged in this work. The residents of 68 houses which are in danger have been shifted to a safer place and a zone has been formed of more than 600 houses. People are being shifted from there as well.”

Earlier, CM Dhami had reached Joshimath on Saturday where he conducted an aerial and ground survey of the entire area. After which he also talked to the people there and assured all possible help. CM Dhami said that Joshimath is an important place for culture, religion and tourism. Everything possible will be done to save it.

In fact, in view of the danger of land subsidence in Joshimath, the administration has decided to divide it into three zones. These zones will be unsafe, safe and buffer zones. On the basis of zone, orders have been given to mark the houses. In the unsafe zone, there will be such houses which are very dilapidated and not fit for habitation. The buildings in the safe zone will be those which have mild cracks and the size of the cracks is stable and not increasing. The buffer zone will have those buildings which have minor cracks, but there is a risk of cracks growing. The administration has declared Gandhinagar, Singhdhar, Manohar Bagh and Sunil wards of Joshimath as unsafe areas.
