Due to landslide in Joshimath, 4 wards are unsafe, NTPC bid – we are not responsible for the disaster

In Joshimath, Uttarakhand, the district administration has declared four wards unsafe in view of incidents of landslides and cracks in houses. Along with this, the people living in these areas have been asked to vacate the place immediately and take shelter in a safe place. According to the report of the administration, Sunil Ward, Manohar Bagh, Singh Dhar and Marwari Ward, apart from Gandhi Nagar areas are the most affected by this disaster. Of these, the district administration had declared four areas unsafe after the survey on Sunday itself. In this sequence, on Monday once again the expert committee had reached to inspect the opportunity. Apart from one NDRF team, four SDRF teams are already present here. At the same time, a team of NDMA is also on the spot. According to District Magistrate Chamoli, the work of survey, rescue and relief work is going on simultaneously. People are being evacuated from the affected areas and kept at safe places. He told that the exercise of giving four thousand rupees per month to the affected families has also been started.

The tunnel is not going from under Joshimath

There are continuous allegations of water filling in Joshimath through NTPC tunnels. Meanwhile, NTPC has also issued a statement. In this, NTPC has clearly said that no tunnel has been taken out from under Joshimath. Also said that NTPC never excavates tunnels through blast, rather it is excavated technically and with machines. Told that the work of Tapovan Hydel Project has been stopped since January 5 following protests by the people of Joshimath. The company made it clear that the 12 km long tunnel has no connection with Joshimath. This tunnel has been made to lift the water of the river and take it to the turbines of the plant.

Chief Minister’s secretary camped

R Meenakshi, secretary to the chief minister, has camped in Joshimath since Sunday. He is not only keeping an eye on the situation, but is giving every moment’s report to the Chief Minister from here. Along with this, he is also trying to speed up the relief work by holding regular meetings with the local level officials. He told that soon the people trapped in this disaster will be taken out.
