Australia is the top scoring team in Hockey World Cup history. Australia has scored 313 goals so far. After this, the Netherlands is in second place with 267 goals. Pakistan’s team, which has won the World Cup for the most number of times, is in third place with 235 goals. The Indian team is at the fourth position in this list with 201 goals. Apart from these four countries, no one has touched the figure of 200.

Eight-time Olympic champions India have won the World Cup title only once. India won the title for the only time in 1975 under the leadership of Ajit Pal Singh. The Indian team will try to end the drought of 48 years under the leadership of Harmanpreet Singh. India is also being considered as a strong contender for the title this time.

Let us tell you that India is hosting the Hockey World Cup for the fourth time. Earlier India hosted the tournament in 1982 (Mumbai), 2010 (Delhi) and 2018 (Odisha). This is the first time that a country is hosting two consecutive Hockey World Cup editions.
