The government will take a decision on the report of the central institutions conducting the survey to find out the reasons for the Joshimath landslide. Individual institutions can submit reports to the government within two weeks. A committee will be constituted after the report. After this the report will be kept in the cabinet.
The government will act on the report of the scientists. During the cabinet briefing on Friday, Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu told, teams of scientists from CBRI, Wadia Institute, IIRS, NGRI Hyderabad, Indian Soil Testing Institute, Geological Survey of India, IIT Roorkee and other institutes on Joshimath landslide Studying to find out the reasons. The central institutions said to submit the report within one to two weeks.
There is a ban on NTPC’s hydro project and other construction work in Joshimath. The Chief Secretary said, a committee will be constituted by the government to conclude all the reports. After this the report will be placed in the cabinet. Told that the central government has sent a report of the NTPC project, which is based on the survey done earlier, but the government will act after taking a decision on the report of scientists of central institutions.
