Meteorite fell in Gujarat after breaking from Mercury, such incident seen after 170 years
The meteorite had fallen in Banaskantha, Gujarat in the month of August last year. This kind of astronomical event has been seen after about 170 years. Earlier this type of astronomical event was seen in 1852. This has been revealed in a paper published in the Indian Academy of Science Peer Reviewed Journal. This paper has been published only last month. Scientists posted in the Space Department of Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad have written in detail about this meteorite.
These scientists have said on the basis of their research that this meteorite was filled with a mineral element called Enstite. Generally, mineral elements with such properties are found on the surface of Mercury. According to this paper, the case of such meteorite falling in the Indian subcontinent came earlier in 1852. At that time meteorites fell in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. Researchers have told in their research paper that such meteorites are very rare. Generally, such meteorites are such that they break away from any big meteorite of the solar system. According to scientists, these small meteorites are very bright. In these, oxygen is either not there or it is in very less quantity.
Meteorites are made of exotic minerals
According to scientists, many types of exotic minerals were filled in the meteorite that fell in Banaskantha, Gujarat. This type of mineral is impossible to find on earth. Minerals with such properties are usually found on the surface of the planet Mercury, or can be found on a meteorite separated from the planet Mercury. Scientists have claimed in their research paper that this incident will help a lot in seeing and understanding the astronomical events that will happen in the future.
The meteorite fell with a bang
The people living in Banaskantha also became witnesses of this incident. According to the residents of Rantila village here, when this incident took place on August 15, there was a big explosion. Started walking through the storm. It felt as if an airplane had passed by. This meteorite had fallen on a neem tree. Due to this the tree was badly broken and uprooted. After the noise subsided, the villagers who came out of their houses had collected pieces ranging from two hundred grams to half a kilo.
