Delhi / Dwarkapuri: One lakh rupees garland with 500 notes was snatched from the groom’s neck, police searched 80 CCTV footage, 1 arrested

The Delhi Police has arrested two accused who robbed the garland of Rs 500 notes worn by the groom. The complaint of loot was lodged in the police station on 31 January. The victim’s family had written in the report that two scooty-riding youths looted a garland of notes worth one lakh rupees. The age of the accused was said to be 20-25 years. The report was lodged at the Jagatpuri police station in Delhi. After the incident came to light, the police started searching for the accused. During the investigation, the police had scanned the footage of more than 80 CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity of 5-6 km from the spot of the incident. In this, the police were seen going to the accused Geeta Colony riding a scooty.

One accused was arrested, then got the information of the other

On the basis of CCTV, the police team had reached house number 2/79 of Geeta Colony. Here the police found 26-year-old Jasmeet, one of the two youths seen on the scooty, who was immediately arrested by the police. Along with this, the police also recovered his red and black colored scooty (DL3SFE-0813). According to the police, the accused Jasmeet Singh works as a delivery boy for Food Delivery Company. The police also told that he is a habitual drug addict. During interrogation of Jasmeet, the information of the other accused who supported him in the robbery was taken. The police came to know that 22-year-old Rajeev Mahato was involved in the incident with him.

20 notes of Rs 500 recovered

After this the police arrested him too. Accused Rajeev Mahato has studied till fifth standard. He also works as a delivery boy. Rajeev is also a drug addict and has been involved in snatching cases before. Police found 500 rupees 11 notes from Jasmeet and 9 notes from Rajeev. A total of 10 thousand rupees notes were recovered by the police.

Ankit Gupta, a resident of Dwarkapuri, lodged a report at the Jagatpuri police station that his brother Anu Gupta was married to Star Place on Patparganj Road. When the procession was going towards Star Place, a young man of 20-25 years had snatched a garland of Rs 500 worth Rs 1 lakh worn by his brother. After the robbery, the scooty rider had escaped with his partner.
