Boxing: IBA President Umar Kremlev on Indian tour, said- IOC cannot conduct Olympic qualifiers without our permission
International Boxing Federation (IBA) President Umar Kremlev made it clear on Tuesday that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) cannot hold the qualifiers for the Paris Olympics without his permission.
Kremlev, who is here for the World Women’s Boxing Championships starting on March 15 at the IG Stadium, said that to resolve the issue both the organizations will have to work in coordination and mutual cooperation.
Kremlev said the IBA is responsible for organizing the Olympic qualifiers and the world championships before the Olympics. If the IOC wants to organize the Olympic qualifiers, it will have to take permission from the IBA. It is notable that the IOC has announced to conduct the Olympic qualifiers of boxing itself due to the ban of IBA.
