Uttarakhand: Congress is opposing the renaming of Jolly Grant Airport, Mahendra Bhatt said – Congress’s opposition is baseless and against the spirit of state building
The BJP has termed Congress’ opposition to renaming Jollygrant Airport after Atal ji baseless and against the spirit of state building. Party state president Mahendra Bhatt said that this proposal of the airport committee is a tribute to the people of the state for the contribution made by Atal ji in the state building. Apart from this, at the party headquarters, party president Bhatt answered various questions of the media including the white paper of the Congress, the anti-encroachment drive in the state, the new liquor policy, the women’s festival. Describing the opposition of Congress as baseless and politically motivated, Bhatt said, if former PM Bharat Ratna late Atal Vihari Vajpayee had not got the state constructed, then the Congressmen who are making allegations today would not have been playing the role of the opposition like this. He said sarcastically, in his period, they used to do the naming according to their own way, we did not have any objection, so now they also should not have any objection.
He said that if the Congress sends positive suggestions through the white paper, it will be welcomed. Congress is issueless, that’s why it has forgotten the way to discharge its role. Whereas BJP is such a party which keeps the details of its government’s works in front of the public every year, not for 5 years. Apart from this, the government has also worked according to the party’s resolution letter. On which blessings have also been received from the people of the state. Whether it is Panchayat elections of Haridwar Panchayat or Rudraprayag, after assessing the works, the people gave preference to BJP over others and we are confident that the party will get the public’s trust in the Lok Sabha and civic body elections as well. He said that instead of finding shortcomings, the Congress should give good suggestions through this letter because ultimately the implementation has to be done by the government.
He said that the purpose of the new liquor policy is to increase the state’s revenue and stop illegal smuggling. The state president said that the aim of the government is to increase the revenue for the economic strength of the state and to control the smuggling from neighboring states due to difference in price. He sarcastically, like other governments, we do not branding any particular brand by meeting liquor smugglers. Bhatt said that
It is our moral responsibility to remove illegal encroachment on government land
Regarding the action being taken on the ongoing illegal encroachment in the state, he said that if the political parties who made the allegations had not encouraged the encroachment while in power, then such a problem would not have happened today. At present, the government is following the orders of the court and even after this, all necessary help will be given to those who come under the purview of the housing and other schemes of the central and state governments.
