Earthquake: 6.8 magnitude earthquake in Afghanistan, two killed, six injured in Pakistan; Earth trembled in China too
Strong tremors of earthquake were felt in Afghanistan. Along with this, the earth kept shaking for a long time in many countries including Pakistan, China. In Pakistan, strong tremors were felt in various cities of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan including Islamabad. There are reports of two deaths and injuries to six others due to the earthquake. According to media reports, the report of the Disaster Management Authority of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that at least two people were killed and six people were injured in incidents of roof, wall and house collapse in the province. Here eight houses have been damaged due to the earthquake.
At the same time, Swat District Police Officer Shafiullah Gandapur told the media that two people have died in the district, while 150 people have been injured. He said that the injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The roof of a house collapsed due to the tremors in Swabi in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province. Five members of a family were injured in this.
Meanwhile, the Bahrain-Kalam road was blocked due to landslides caused by the earthquake. Footage aired on TV channels showed panic-stricken people taking to the streets. At the same time, at the time of the earthquake, a stampede-like situation had developed in the markets of Rawalpindi.
According to preliminary information, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake occurred 77 km southeast of Fayzabad in Afghanistan. Tremors were also felt in Peshawar, Kohat and Swabi of Pakistan. Apart from this, earthquake tremors were also felt in Lahore, Quetta and Rawalpindi. Panicked people came out of their homes. According to local media, tremors were also felt in Gujranwala, Gujarat, Sialkot, Kot Momin, Madh Ranjha, Chakwal, Kohat and Gilgit-Baltistan areas of Pakistan. In India too, the people of the northern region spread over many states felt the strong tremors of the earthquake.
