G-20 Summit – Chief Science Advisors of 20 countries brainstormed on four agendas and prepared a concept note

Four agendas were discussed in the Chief Science Advisors Roundtable at the G-20 Summit. A blueprint has been drawn regarding health challenges. One health was discussed in the summit. In this, it was decided that we will have to work together on the challenges related to the health of humans, animals and wildlife. Under this, One India Health Mission has been launched in Nagpur, in which 11 departments will work together. One Health Institute is being prepared in Nagpur, which will work in this direction and will be in touch with all the institutions of the country and abroad. The conference began at 9:30 am on Wednesday. Chief Secretary SS Sandhu gave the welcome speech.

While presiding over the press conference organized in the auditorium of Taj Resort, Principal Scientific Advisor (PSA) Prof. Ajay Sood told that under One Health, arrangements for surveillance to keep an eye on diseases, preparation to deal with diseases, vaccine manufacturing and other works will be done in which science and technology will play an important role. He said that surveillance, environmental surveillance have a strong role to keep an eye on diseases. We have such technology for which there is no need to work on a very large scale.

With some effort, you can find out about the epidemic. Dr. Sood told that there was discussion in the conference about the accessibility and accessibility of the research done in the world to all. Everyone was of the same opinion that there should be easy access to knowledge. He said that there is a need to pay more attention to the traditional knowledge that we have. Traditional knowledge is not to be discarded but it needs to learn from the better and take them along. This will also reduce the distances.

Experts brainstormed on strengthening the global science advisory mechanism on the fourth agenda. There have been talks on developing an institutional mechanism that benefits all. He said that a concept note will be prepared under the G-20 Summit in Ramnagar, which will be further modified while interacting through virtual medium. After this, the G-20 CSAR meeting will be held again in August. In this, the concept note of Ramnagar will be finalised. Dr. Parvinder Maini, Scientist of Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) Office, Naman Upadhyay, official of Ministry of External Affairs were present in the press conference.

Disease caused by climate change is also a challenge

Principal Scientist Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood told that there was also concern about the disease caused by climate change. We need to work in this direction. Wildlife should not be seen only from the point of view of conservation. There is also work to be done regarding their illness and prevention. He said that there is a need to look at the disease from human to animal, from animal to human, not separately, but from a holistic point of view.

G-20 guests are overwhelmed with hospitality: Dhami

CM Pushkar Dhami said that the guests involved in the G-20 summit are happy with the hospitality in Ramnagar. When he goes back from here, he will tell his countrymen about Ramnagar, Jim Corbett Park and Uttarakhand like a brand ambassador, not as a representative. CM Dhami was addressing the public meeting organized here.

The CM said that earlier there was talk of holding two G-20 meetings in April-May. In this regard, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was requested to hold a meeting in Nainital district as well. After the consent of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of External Affairs immediately contacted the Nainital district administration and Rudrapur, Haldwani and Ramnagar were visited. After this preparations for G-20 were started. One of the five major G-20 meetings to be held in the country is being held in Ramnagar. The officers have done a better job. This meeting is like a festival for the public which is being celebrated with great pomp and show.
