In Uttarakhand, in the last 24 hours, rain and hailstorm have left the state in disarray. There has also been a crisis of electricity and water in many districts. Agriculture Director Gaurishankar says that the rain at this time is harmful for the wheat crop. How much damage has been done to the crops due to rain and hailstorm. It is being calculated. Initial reports of damage were sent from Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital districts. In which rabi crops have been damaged on about 185 hectares of land. But it rained on Friday as well. The exact loss will be known only after receiving the final loss report from across the state.
On the other hand, Ratan Kumar, Joint Director of Horticulture Department, said that rain and hailstorm are adversely affecting horticulture crops. Fruit crops on which pollination process is going on with flowering. Those crops can be damaged by rain. Also, production will be affected due to flower fall due to hailstorm. The damage is being assessed in all the districts.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami suddenly reached the Disaster Management Control Room located at the Secretariat late on Friday evening and inquired from the officials about the situation arising out of the rains in the state. Apart from instructing the officers to be alert 24 hours, the Chief Minister directed the Secretary Disaster Management to coordinate with all the District Magistrates and provide assistance on the basis of their needs.
On loss of crops due to rain, said that farmers will be helped. Secretary Disaster Management Dr. Ranjit Sinha said that there was no loss of life in the state due to rain. Four vehicles were damaged in Mussoorie after a parking wall collapsed. In Nainital’s Ramnagar, a bus overturned in the strong current of the river, but all the passengers were saved safely.
