CNG, LPG price cut by up to Rs 8

Adani Total Gas Limited has announced a reduction in the price of CNG by Rs 8.13 per kg and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) by Rs 5.06 per cubic metre. The new prices are applicable from today. Apart from Adani, Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), a subsidiary of Gail India, has also cut the price of CNG by Rs 8 and PNG by Rs 5. The announcement of both the companies comes after a government decision in which the Center has implemented a new mechanism to fix the price of domestically produced natural gas.
NGL had also cut CNG prices by Rs 2.5 per kg in February. Let us tell you that even after this deduction, it remains more than 80 percent as compared to April 2022. After this decision, which will be effective from midnight, CNG will be available at Rs 79 per kg and PNG at Rs 49 per SCM. MGL said in a statement late evening that it is happy to pass on the benefit of reduction in prices of domestically produced gas to CNG and PNG consumers.

Adani Total Gas has said that the company has decided to benefit customers by giving priority to them under the new guidelines issued for pricing of gas. The company says that due to the reduction in prices, those using CNG instead of petrol will be able to save 40 percent and those using PNG in the kitchen instead of LPG will be able to save 15 percent. Price will be fixed every month
The Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) of the Ministry of Petroleum and Gas, in an order issued during the day, said that the price of natural gas for the period April 8 to April 30 will be USD 7.92 per million mmBtu. However, the rate for consumers will be 6.5. Dollars per unit have been limited. The central government has said that now the price of natural gas will be fixed every month. Earlier it was revised after review every 6 months.
