Uttar Pradesh / Gorakhpur: She used to abscond after selling fake silver by telling it real, shopkeepers were upset, two women arrested

Two women used to roam around the gold shops located in PPganj area of Gorakhpur district and abscond with money by selling fake silver. On Sunday, with the help of a shopkeeper, the PPganj police arrested him. During interrogation, they were identified as Rita Devi, resident of village Vatrate, police station, Gopalganj, district, Bihar, and Ravi Bala, resident of village Purwa, police station, Divyapur, district, Auriyan. The police produced both of them in the court and sent them to jail.

Arvind Kumar Verma, the proprietor of Akshay Jewelers in PPganj town, informed the PPganj police on Sunday that he had caught the two women. She has come to his shop to sell fake silver. In October 2022 also, both these women had come to the shop and absconded with 74 thousand rupees by giving silver. After the investigation of the silver given by him, it turned out to be fake. Police reached the information and arrested both the women. The police also recovered 2.5 kg fake silver from them. Station in-charge Ashish Singh said that both the women told during interrogation that she used to bring fake silver from Bihar and sell it at shops in the countryside.
