Uttarakhand: Dehradun resort raided, 14 girls in custody
Late night AHTU and ANTF Sahaspur police station raided Horawala Sanjivani Resort. During the raid, the police caught 14 girls from the resort. Of these, five people have been arrested in the unethical prostitution case. However, during this time there was a stir in the resort.
According to the information received, the police immediately left for the spot as soon as the information was received about the illegal prostitution business going on in a resort late at night. On reaching here, the police took major action and detained many people. Sahaspur Police Station President Girish Negi said that objectionable material has also been found in the investigation. Gyanendra Kumar, an international anti-human-trafficking activist, was informed by local citizens about suspicious circumstances and movement of suspicious people at this resort for a long time.
There were also reports of rave parties at this resort, in which there were also reports of drug use and prostitution by young men and women from outside the state. The help of the local police station also could not be ruled out. Keeping this in view last evening, activist Gyanendra Kumar met District Senior Superintendent of Police Dilip Singh Kunwar and apprised him about the situation. Thereafter, Kunwar formed a special police team with Gyanendra Kumar under the leadership of SP City Sarita Doval and CO Dalanwala Abhinav Chaudhary. After raiding the resort, a huge amount of charas, liquor bottles from other states, and many young women in suspicious condition were recovered from there. Despite all the precautions, some people managed to escape with the resort operator and suspicious items.
