Uttarakhand: Two youths burnt alive in forest fire, both had come from Delhi to Pauri to attend friend’s wedding

A painful accident took place on Tuesday, April 11 from Pauri district of Uttarakhand. In Chaubattakhal tehsil area, two youths were badly scorched in the forest fire, due to which they died. Both the youths had come from Delhi to Kanduli village to attend their friend’s wedding.

According to the information received from the local public representatives and villagers, about 300 meters away from Kanduli village, there was a fire in the pine civil forests adjacent to the Van Panchayat land. The road to the village also passes through this area. While coming towards the village, Kuldeep (28) son Deendayal and Vikas Singh (23) son Mahipal Singh came under fire on the way. It is being said that this incident happened with both the youths while trying to extinguish the fire on the road. When the villagers passing by saw both the youths scorched, they informed the local administration about the matter.

Satpuli SDM Sandeep Kumar told that the local villagers informed the revenue administration about the incident. The fire was so fierce that due to its grip, Kuldeep died on the spot and Vikas was badly burnt. The villagers hurriedly took Vikas to Pokhda Hospital, where the doctors referred him to the Higher Center seeing his serious condition, but while going to the Higher Center, Vikas died midway.

Revenue police took possession of both the dead bodies and did postmortem. SDM Sandeep Kumar said that complete information about the accident is being collected and the investigation of the entire matter has been handed over to the Tehsildar. Further action will be implemented only after the investigation of the revenue team.

Pauri had come for a friend’s wedding: According to information, both Kuldeep and Vikas had come to their village three days before for their friend’s wedding. Kuldeep was a resident of Kanduli village, while Vikas was a resident of Sediakhal. The villagers told that there was a marriage in Sedia on 13 and 14 April. Both had come for this marriage.
