Uttarakhand: Dead body of IAS teacher brother found in barrage on fifth day, went missing in Ganga during rafting

SDRF recovered body of IAS teacher brother who drowned in Ganga near Bahampuri. He went missing on April 7 while rafting in the Ganges. Police has sent the dead body to AIIMS for postmortem. SDRF Dhalwala in-charge Kavindra Sajwan said that a dead body was reported to have been seen at Pashulok barrage on Tuesday.
When the dead body was removed and identified, the relatives identified him as Harish Kumar Meena (34) son of Ratan Singh Meena, resident of Jaipur, Rajasthan. Told that Harish Kumar Meena had come to Rishikesh to visit with a 14-member team. He left for rafting from Shivpuri on April 7.
He descended into the river by raft near the Osodham Ashram in Brahmapuri. Meanwhile, after passing over the raft coming from behind, he went missing in the Ganges. SDRF was continuously searching for him in Ganga. Told that after filling the Panchanama of the deceased, the police has sent the dead body to AIIMS for postmortem. The SDRF in-charge said that Surendra Kumar Meena, brother of the deceased, is posted as District Magistrate in Alipurduar, West Bengal.
