Uttarakhand / Mussoorie: The first meeting of the municipality was held, there was no co-ordination among the officers, suggestions were given by the municipal councilors.
In the first meeting of the season held at the Municipality Auditorium, the lack of mutual coordination among the departmental officers was clearly visible. On the occasion, the Deputy District Magistrate Nandan Kumar asked the officers to work in coordination, while the Municipal President Anuj Gupta expressed displeasure over the plight of the city’s roads. Expressing the need to improve the condition of the roads before the season, the officers of the Drinking Water Corporation and the Public Works Department were seen accusing each other.
In the meeting, Deputy District Magistrate Nandan Kumar while giving directions to the officials said that the work of improving the Mall Road should be done on time, as well as the roads dug by the Drinking Water Corporation on Motilal Nehru Marg will be made by the Public Works Department, which will be paid by the Drinking Water Corporation. On this occasion, Municipality President Anuj Gupta said that the common people are suffering due to the lack of coordination between the departmental officers and the roads of Mussoorie are dug up at many places. Member Geeta Kumai said that construction materials are lying everywhere on the roads of the city, due to which the fear of accident remains all the time, as well as the situation of jam also persists. He asked City Kotwal DS Kohli to take action against such people who have put their construction material on the roads. In the meeting, Kotwal DS Kohli said that illegal shops should be removed at Ambedkar Chowk and Motilal Nehru Road so that it helps in normalizing the traffic and voters should not be seen in it. On the other hand, SSI Guman Singh Negi said that neither the NH is listening nor the Public Works Department, there are potholes on the roads, said many times but now the police have become helpless. In the meeting, all the season related departments were asked to complete their works before the season so that the tourists do not face any problem.
