Wildfire spreads to the city in South Korea, many buildings destroyed … 550 people saved

There is a disaster on the eastern coastal city of Gangneung in South Korea. Here the fire in the forests became even worse with the strong wind. The flames reached the city. Here, more than 500 people have been evacuated from their homes and taken to a safe place. Officials say that the fire was quite frightening, but due to the rain, firefighters were helped in overcoming the fire.

According to the Korea Forest Service, the fire started at 8:30 a.m. local time on Monday in Gangneung and was brought under control by 4:30 p.m. The fire had affected 420 acres of land. 550 people have been shifted to safer places from this city with a population of more than 2 lakhs.

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol ordered officials to use all available resources to extinguish the fire and evacuate people as soon as possible.

Three people have been injured in this terrible fire, out of which two are firefighters. Dozens of buildings were gutted due to the fierce fire. According to Yonhap news agency, a body was also recovered from a burnt house later in the afternoon. Officials believe that a tree fell on power lines due to strong winds, fueling the fire.
