Land scam case, ED raids in three states, 22 locations of businessmen including former Ranchi DC Chhavi Ranjan raided
ED is conducting raids at 22 locations in Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal against Jharkhand IAS officer and former Ranchi DC Chhavi Ranjan and his wife in land scam case. Zonal officers and land brokers are also on the radar of the investigating agency.
Note counting machine reached Chhavi Ranjan’s residence
The ED team has reached the house in Kadma, Jamshedpur with a note counting machine. It is being told that there was a special security arrangement inside the flat of Chhavi Ranjan’s master bedroom, where there was a three-layer security cover on the same door. On the other hand, the ED team is also raiding the Adityapur residence, where his relative has been called and the flat has been opened.

In
February 2018, businessman Vishnu Agarwal bought 3.75 acres of land from Mahua Mitra and Sanjay Kumar Ghosh. 24.37 crore was paid in lieu of this land. The land was near Sirmtoli Chowk. The claimed land is under the occupation of the Indian Army. Vishnu Agarwal claimed the land on the basis of land registry. Indian Army has an important base in Ranchi, land brokers had allegedly encroached upon a large part of the land and sold it fraudulently. It is alleged that the matter related to sale and purchase of land was under the notice of former DC Chhavi Ranjan and it was done with his consent. In this case, ED had also questioned Vishnu Aggarwal.

Vishnu Agarwal is originally from Purlia, West Bengal. Many big malls and hotels in Ranchi are owned by Vishnu. From Nucleus Mall in Lalpur, Ranchi to many hotels and land owners in Kanke, Vishnu Agarwal has better relations with leaders and officials. Allegation: Illegal stone mining worth Rs 1,000 crore in Sahibganj
What action was taken – ED has interrogated Sahebganj DC Ramniwas Yadav on 23 January 2023. The inquiry took place again on February 6. Presently he is working as DC in Sahebganj.
▪️Name – Rajeev Arun Ekka
Designation- Principal Secretary and Home Secretary to Chief Minister Hemant Soren
Allegation: On March 5, a video related to Rajeev Arun Ekka was released in the BJP office. In the video, the accused were sitting at Vishal Chowdhary’s house handling the files of the government’s home department.
What action was taken: On March 27, 2023, ED interrogated Rajeev Arun Ekka. Inquired again on 28 March. Presently working on the post of Principal Secretary of Panchayati Raj Department.
