18,000 cows died in a blast at a dairy farm in Texas, USA. For the first time in any state of America, so many cows have died simultaneously. Machinery failure caused an explosion at the South Fork Dairy in the city of Dimmit. This started a fire there. One person has also been seriously injured in the accident.
Castro County police said the incident happened on April 11. Police received information about the incident at around 7 am. The fire brigade team reached the spot and after a lot of effort, brought the fire under control. After this, the person trapped in the farm was rescued and taken to the hospital. Some cows present in the farm have also been rescued after the accident.
Cows were tied in the enclosure to extract milk, during which the explosion occurred.
Police officer Sal Rivera said – We suspect that the accident happened due to overheating of a machine. The machine may have overheated due to excessive use. After this methane gas started coming out. This might have caused an explosion and the fodder for the cows might have caught fire.
County Judge Mandy Geffler said the cows were herded into a pen waiting to be milked when the explosion occurred.
