Uttarakhand: An amount of Rs 663 crore has been approved for the development works of local bodies

An amount of Rs 663 crore has been approved by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for carrying out development work in panchayats and civic bodies. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved this amount on the recommendation of the 5th State Finance Commission. An order has also been issued in this regard from the Finance Department. This amount has been approved by the Uttarakhand government led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to speed up the development work of Panchayats and local bodies. In the very first month of the financial year 2023-24, Chief Minister Dhami has approved such a huge amount for three-tier panchayats and urban local bodies. The recommendations of the Fifth State Finance Commission have approved this amount of Rs 663.43 crore.
An amount of Rs 266.05 crore has been sanctioned to all district panchayats for the first quarter of the financial year and to the area and gram panchayats as the first half yearly installment. As the first installment of the financial year 2022-23, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami approved the proposal of Rs 65 crore 10 lakh for the urban local bodies including the Cantonment Board.
An amount of Rs 245.76 crore has been approved to all urban local bodies as the first installment for the financial year 2023-24. Not only this but also the non-elected Nagar Panchayat which includes Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. An amount of Rs 3 crore has been approved for them as the first instalment. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that this amount has been approved so that there is no shortage of money in completing the development works of panchayats and local bodies.
