NASA’s rover sent pictures from Mars, found traces of ancient life
Scientists have been searching for life in the universe for years. If we talk about finding life in the solar system, the first target of scientists is Mars. Now meanwhile, the Curiosity Rover of the American space agency NASA has sent some pictures of Mars. These pictures sent by Curiosity Rover are of the strange structure of the stones. Images of Mars have revealed rock interiors that look like the remains of prehistoric animals.
The texture is like the remains of the skeleton of animals
NASA’s Curiosity rover has captured pictures of strange rock formations on Mars. These pictures show the internal structure of the rocks of Mars. These structures look like the skeletal remains of animals from prehistoric times. A bunch of spikes jutting out from the rock-like structure are also visible in these pictures from the Curiosity rover. These pictures were taken on the surface of the 154 kilometer long Gale Crater on Mars. The Curiosity rover used the Mast Camera and CamCam to capture these images. Now these pictures have sparked a debate about the presence of ancient life on Mars. The Curiosity rover has been orbiting Gale Crater since August 2012 as part of NASA’s Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) mission.

Some people who have seen these pictures believe that it is the remains of a fish. Whereas, many others believe that it resembles the branch of a pine tree. However, one thing is for sure, what everyone is assuming is that these pictures are unbelievable. Bone-like structures have also been found in some of the stones in Gale Crater. The discovery of Gale Crater has confirmed that Mars once had large pools of water. There is also the possibility that some water may still be hidden beneath its surface. Gale Crater is one of the largest lakes on Mars. Its origin is being told from 3.5 to 3.8 billion years ago. Gale Crater, which was once a lake, is now a crater 154 kilometers wide.
Mission of curiosity rover
The mission objectives of the Curiosity rover are to study the Martian environment and geology, as well as to search for evidence of the presence of life. This rover is continuously sending pictures of strange things from the surface of Mars. Astronomer Nathalie A. Cabrol posted a snapshot of it on Twitter, calling it “the most bizarre rock I’ve come across in 20 years of studying Mars.” There are many people who believe that there used to be life on Mars, although there is currently only selective evidence for them.
Rover has already sent pictures
This is not the first time that the Curiosity rover has sent a strange picture from the surface of Mars to Earth. In June last year, the rover discovered several strange curved structures jutting out from the surface of Mars. These are now thought to be naturally occurring pillars called hoodoos. According to experts, these pillars have been present on the surface of Mars for millions of years. These are made of soft rocks, which have started to look like pillars over time. The rover obtained a snapshot of a coral-like ‘flower’ in Gale Crater in February 2022, but it was actually a frozen mineral.
