Uttarakhand: Employees of door-to-door garbage companies went on strike in Doon, demonstrated at the police station

In Uttarakhand’s Dehradun, employees of waste collection companies Rajan Gandhi Water Grace One and Sun Light Waste Management Pvt Ltd went on strike. They say that the company is making illegal reduction of employees. Also, salary is not being given on time. Police cases are being filed against the people associated with the employees union for harassing them. In this regard, the striking workers also demonstrated by reaching Raipur police station.

On this occasion, Union President Sanjay Kumar told that illegal reduction of workers was done by the companies. Salary for the month of March has not been given yet. Due to this, the question of livelihood has arisen in front of the workers. He had already informed about this problem to the City Health Officer and other officials of the Municipal Corporation. Despite this, the corporation officials also neither took cognizance of this problem nor took any action against the company.

He said that on the contrary, a false case is being filed against the company in Raipur police station. On this occasion, District General Secretary of CITU Lekhraj said that a complaint against the companies has already been made to the Deputy Labor Commissioner. A notice has also been issued against the corporation administration and companies on this. Neither the Corporation Administration nor the Company Management appeared in the proceedings. Due to this the workers have boycotted the work.

He demanded the corporation administration and company managers to solve the problems by holding talks on the problems of the laborers immediately. Union president Sanjay Kumar also filed a complaint against a driver of the company at Raipur police station. It is alleged that the driver tried to run over them with the intention of killing them. Some youths pulled them and saved them.
