Supreme Court reached Atiq and Ashraf’s murder case in police custody, demand for investigation of 183 Encounter during the tenure of Yogi government

A petition has been filed in the SUPRME COURT Supreme Court on Sunday, a day after mafia Atiq Ahmad Atiq Ahmad and his brother Asraf Ashraf were shot dead in police protection. In which a request has been made to set up an independent expert committee under the chairmanship of a retired Supreme Court judge to investigate it. It has been said in the petition that the incident of murder in police custody on the pretext of such murder or fake encounter is a violation of the rule of law. From Vikas Dubey to Atiq, Ashraf, Asad encounter comes in this category. This anarchy is a serious challenge to democracy. The petition, filed by advocate VISHAL TIWARI Vishal Tiwari, has also sought a probe into the 183 encounters that have taken place in Uttar Pradesh since 2017. The petition has sought formation of an independent expert committee to probe the murders of Atiq and Ashraf.

What is the matter

Three assailants disguised as journalists opened fire on Ahmed and his brother Ashraf when they were answering questions from journalists while being taken by policemen for examination to a medical college in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. A few hours before this incident, the last rites of Ahmed’s son Asad, who was killed in a police encounter in Jhansi on 13 April along with one of his accomplices, were performed. The Uttar Pradesh Police on Friday said it has killed 183 alleged criminals in encounters in the six years of the government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and this includes Asad and his associates.

Arbitrarily judge should be avoided
