Heat wave alert in 9 states of the country, mercury will cross 45, school-college closed

April month is still half it has passed but the scorching heat has started in many states of the country. In many states, the mercury has reached 45 degrees. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert regarding the scorching heat in Bihar, Bengal and Andhra Pradesh. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has predicted heat wave in Jharkhand, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Sikkim. On Monday, the condition of heat wave remained in Punjab and Haryana. Schools have been closed in many states due to the scorching heat.

It has been said that heat wave conditions may persist in some parts of eastern India for the next four days and in the north-west region of the country for two days. According to IMD, heat wave conditions may continue for four consecutive days in the Gangetic plains of West Bengal and Bihar. In Sikkim, Odisha and Jharkhand also, there can be a period of severe heat for the next two to three days. Eastern Uttar Pradesh may also be affected by extreme heat on 18-19 April.

School-college closed in West Bengal and Tripura

Schools and colleges have been closed in West Bengal due to the heat. Schools, colleges and universities in the state have been closed for a week i.e. till 23 April, except in Darjeeling and Kalimpong of West Bengal. Due to the scorching heat, many schools in Kolkata are taking online classes. It is scorching hot these days in Tripura as well. Due to the scorching heat, all government schools in the state have been closed from 18 to 23 April. State Chief Minister Manik Saha had announced this on Monday itself. At the same time, due to the closure of the school, studies are being adversely affected.

The Meteorological Department says that the effect of the Western Disturbance in the Western Himalayan region may start appearing from today i.e. Tuesday. The Meteorological Department has said that from Tuesday, there will be some relief from the scorching heat in the plains of northwestern India. The department has said that light rain may occur in many areas in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan during April 18 to 20. On April 18, rain is expected in different parts of Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh.
