Prabhat Jayasuriya took career best figures of 7 for 52 in the first innings. He took 3 wickets for 56 runs in the second innings. Jayasuriya’s spin partner Ramesh Medis took four for 76 in the second innings and five wickets in the match. Mendis touched the figure of 50 Test wickets in the 11th match. During this, he became the fastest Sri Lankan bowler to take 50 Test wickets.
Fast bowler Vishwa Fernando also took two wickets in both the innings. Sri Lanka had earlier achieved the biggest win against Zimbabwe. Sri Lanka beat Zimbabwe by an innings and 254 runs in 2004.
