Rural Development Minister Ganesh Joshi said that the meeting of Employment Guarantee Council is very important for the development of rural areas. He said that it is the priority of the government to promote works under MNREGA in rural areas. It is the priority of the Central and State Governments to guarantee 100 days of unskilled employment in a financial year to rural households registered under MNREGA. The government is working on strengthening the livelihood resources base of the poor. He said that work is being done to promote MNREGA more by making mutual coordination with other departments.

Rural Development Minister Ganesh Joshi said that works related to water conservation and water conservation, works related to minor irrigation, construction of Amrit Sarovar, watershed management, improvement in land productivity, fisheries, development of barren land, construction of cattle shed, increase in agricultural producers, self Works like construction of workshed, rural sanitation related works, rural haats, food storage houses are being done continuously under MNREGA for livelihood activities of the self-help groups. He said that agriculture and allied activities, work related to natural resource management and works for personal gain are also being promoted quickly. Rural Development Minister Ganesh Joshi said that 100 percent seeding and mapping of workers’ Aadhaar and bank accounts should be done in the Aadhaar Based Payment System (ABPS). So that the workers do not have to face trouble at the time of payment. He said that under the National Mobile Monitoring System (NMMS), the presence of the laborer in each work is recorded twice (at an interval of four hours) through the mobile app. Attendance is taken by Mate, BFT, Rozgar Sevak or Village Development Officer. Other rules should be considered for presence in places where there is no internet network so that the workers do not face any kind of trouble. He said that for the simplification of attendance, a request will be made to the central government from the level of the state government very soon. He said that in order to increase the work completion rate, the central government has implemented a system of doing only 20 works in a gram panchayat at a time. A new task will open only when one of the existing 20 tasks is closed. Due to delay in payment of material component, this arrangement is causing problems at some places. He said that for such problems, correspondence should be done by the state government with the central government and the related problems should be solved under the auspices.

Rural Development Minister Ganesh Joshi said that there is a need to pay special attention to simplification of the process of subsidy payment. He said that many problems are coming due to the social audit to be held in 3 years. Now the period of social audit will be reduced from 3 years to 1 year. He said that emphasis is also being laid on the monitoring of MNREGA work at every level. He said that the central government will be urged to increase the wages of workers in MNREGA. Work will be done soon to link MNREGA workers with EPFO. The meeting of the State Employment Guarantee Council will be held at an interval of every 6 months.
