So did the speed of Vande Bharat train slow down, what did the railways tell in RTI

Country’s semi high speed train Vande Bharat is not running at its full speed. This has been revealed in the information received from an RTI.

Chandra Shekhar Gaur, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, in an RTI sought information about the average speed of Vande Bharat. The reply given by the Railways to this RTI shows that the speed of Vande Bharat train has been around 83 kmph.

Slow pace!
Railways has told that the average speed of Vande Bharat train in 2021-22 has been 84.48 km per hour. Whereas in 2022-23 it has been at 81.38 km per hour.

Let us tell you that Vande Bharat Express is an electric multi-unit train operated by Indian Railways. It was designed by the Research Designs and Standards Organization and manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai. The Modi government presents this as a major achievement of its tenure.

This Vande Bharat is the fastest
Vande Bharat train running between New Delhi and Varanasi is the fastest train with average speed. According to the information, it runs at a speed of 96.37 kmph. Accordingly, this train covers a distance of 771 km in eight hours. Let us tell you that the Vande Bharat train running between New Delhi to Varanasi is the first Vande Bharat train in the country.

However Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express covers the distance of 497 kms in 5 hrs 50 mins at an average speed of 90.36 kmph.

And the Gandhinagar-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express connects Mumbai to Gandhinagar Capital station in Gujarat. This train takes 6 hours 20 minutes to cover the distance of 520 kilometer at an average speed of 83.87 kmph.

Ajmer – Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express covers a distance of 428 kms in 5 hrs 15 mins at an average speed of 83.10 kmph.

New Delhi – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (Jammu & Kashmir) Vande Bharat Express is the second Vande Bharat Express introduced between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and covers a distance of 655 kilometers in eight hours at an average speed of 81.87 kmph. sets the distance.

Mumbai-Shirdi Vande Bharat Express covers a distance of 343 kms in 5 hrs 20 mins at an average speed of 65.96 kmph.

Runs at 130 kmph allowed
In response to RTI, officials have said that the Vande Bharat Express train is designed to run at a maximum speed of 180 kmph, but during commercial operation it is allowed to run at a maximum speed of 130 kmph.

RTI activist Chandrashekhar Gaur, who lives in MP’s Neemuch, told the media that he had sought information about delayed trains under the Right to Information Act. He said that many things have been happening about Vande Bharat. In many media reports, its speed was told as 130 and somewhere 160 km per hour, after which there was curiosity in the mind to know what is the average speed of Indian trains.

Capital is not far behind
The most important information found in this RTI is that in 2021-22 the average speed of Rajdhani Express was 71 km per hour while that of Shatabdi was around 72 km per hour. While Duronto has a speed of 69 kmph, Tejas has a speed of more than 75 kmph while Mail Express trains have a speed of 53 kmph.

In the year 2022-23, the average speed of Rajdhani is 71 kmph, Shatabdi 69 kmph, Duronto 67 kmph and Tejas 73 kmph, while the speed of Mail Express trains is 51 kmph. From this point of view, the difference between the speed of Rajdhani trains and the speed of Vande Bharat train will be only 12 to 15 km per hour.
