Instructing all concerned departments to work on short-term and long-term measures, the Chief Secretary said that together with the traffic police and the transport department, parking for autos, e-rickshaws, etc., along with parking for e-rickshaws and auto-stops, etc. should be determined. Gave instructions to Encroachments on footpaths and roads should be removed immediately. Continuous challans should be made against those who break the traffic rules and park their vehicles in no parking. The Chief Secretary also asked the Deputy Chairman MDDA to provide information about traffic rules by installing signage etc. in the city. He directed the officers to create a separate budget head for repair of footpaths in the cities.
During the meeting, SSP Dehradun Dilip Singh Kunwar told that drivers are being challaned through CCTV as well as through drones for not following the rules. It was informed by Vice President MDDA Banshidhar Tiwari that continuous talks are going on with various schools for parking school buses in school premises and using playgrounds as parking after school holidays. Various schools have adopted a positive attitude in this, and are ready for all possible cooperation. Malls etc. have been asked to make full use of their own parking, as well as information about whether the parking is full or how full the parking is, has also been asked to be made available through displays on the road outside the mall. . It was told in the meeting that the Municipal Corporation and the District Administration are continuously taking action to remove the encroachments.
