SC’s question to the UP government in Atiq-Ashraf murder case, said- Why was the ambulance not brought directly to the hospital, why the parade?

In the murder of mafia Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf Ahmed and in the Asad encounter case, the Supreme Court has summoned the answer from the UP government. The Supreme Court asked why Atiq and Ashraf were not brought inside the ambulance for medical, why they were paraded. The matter will be heard in the Supreme Court after three weeks. The court asked what the government did on the report of Justice Chauhan’s committee on the Vikas Dubey encounter case. The Supreme Court recorded the statement of the UP government that it would file a report. Vikas Dubey will also inform about the steps taken on the basis of the encounter investigation report.

The Supreme Court has sought an affidavit on the Asad encounter that took place before the assassination. It also asked the UP government what action has been taken on the report of Justice BS Chauhan regarding police functioning after the Vikas Dubey encounter. The Supreme Court has raised questions on the UP government. Said that we have seen this incident on TV. Why were both not taken directly to the hospital by ambulance. Why was his parade being conducted? The bench of Justice S. Ravindra Bhatt and Justice Dipankar Dutta will hear.

Mukul Rohatgi appeared in the court on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh government. Rohatgi said that we have formed a commission of two former Chief Justices each for the investigation. The UP government has acted swiftly in this matter. A PIL has been filed in the Supreme Court demanding an inquiry into the custodial killings of Atiq and Ashraf. In the PIL, a probe has been sought under the supervision of a retired judge of the Supreme Court. On the other hand, advocate Vishal Tiwari has filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding the investigation of 183 encounters in Uttar Pradesh since 2017 by an expert committee under the supervision of a retired Supreme Court judge.
