Arun Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi passed away

Arun Gandhi, the grandson of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, died on Tuesday (May 2) in Kolhapur, Maharashtra after a prolonged illness. His son Tushar Gandhi told that his last rites will be performed in Kolhapur after 2 pm today. Arun Gandhi was born on 14 April 1934 in Durban to Manilal Gandhi and Sushila Mashruwala. Following the footsteps of his grandfather, the Father of the Nation, he served the people of Maharashtra as a writer and activist. He wrote many books related to his grandparents.

Arun has been a campaigner of Gandhian values throughout his life

He is survived by his son Tushar, daughter Archana, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Arun Gandhi used to call himself a priest of peace. He wrote books such as ‘Kasturba, the Forgotten Woman’, ‘Grandfather Gandhi’, ‘The Gift of Anger: And Other Lessons from My Grandfather Mahatma Gandhi’, illustrated by Bethany Hegedus and Ivan Turk. Following the footsteps of his grandfather, he always propagated Gandhian values ​​for the establishment of peace and harmony.
