Uttarakhand: The movement of the victim families continues in Joshimath, Megha Patekar came to support and the BJP people showed black flags
Due to the cracks, the city of Joshimath News has not been able to come back on track properly, meanwhile two-sided politics has started regarding the ongoing movement in Joshimath. Megha Patekar, environmentalist and leader of the Narmada Bachao Andolan, reached Joshimath on Monday among the aggrieved families protesting over the cracks in Joshimath. Megha Patekar extended her support to the ongoing movement under the banner of Joshimath Bachao Sangharsh Samiti. During this, Patekar termed the government’s development model for Uttarakhand as destruction model.

He said that all the hydroelectric projects working in Devbhoomi are not in the interest of Devbhoomi. Patekar said that he has an old relation with the land, water and forests. Right from the Narmada Bachao Andolan, she has been raising her voice at various places to save the water, jungle and land. He said that the government should have taken care of the victim families of Joshimath and given them proper displacement and rehabilitation, as well as the government should live up to the agreement made with the government of the people of Joshimath.

On reaching Patekar’s Tehsil premises located in Joshimath, people of Bharatiya Janata Party protested by showing black flags to Megha Patekar, as well as BJP people raised slogans of Megha Patekar Go Back, during this, BJP people protested to Atul Sati, leader of Joshimath Bachao Sangharsh Samiti. Stating that they want to destroy the business of Joshimath by provoking the movement and due to this unnecessary movement in Joshimath, the business of Joshimath has derailed and an atmosphere of fear has arisen in the minds of the pilgrims, due to which Pilgrims are not ready to stop at Joshimath.
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Rishi Prasad Sati accused Megha Patekar that she has done many scams in the name of running an NGO and is sharpening the sword of her politics by coming to Joshimath. Many people like Jayprakash Bhatt Nitin Vyas, Nitish Chauhan, Subhash Dimri, Laxman Farkia, Saurabh Rana etc. were present in the protestors.
Dharna for 107 days, Dhami broke his promise
Atul Sati, leader of Joshimath Bachao Sangharsh Samiti, said that the people of Joshimath had staged a sit-in in the tehsil premises for the last 107 days, after which the protest was suspended after the assurance of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, but all the 9-point demands with Dhami were not met. Dhami has not fulfilled even one of those demands. Accusing the District Magistrate Chamoli, he said that the District Magistrate has no attention towards the Joshimath disaster-affected, and also ignored the instructions of the District Magistrate Dhami. Along with this, he said that the reports of the 8 organizations which have conducted geological survey of Joshimath should be made public.
