Now the voter card will be made automatically as soon as you turn 18, the central government is bringing this bill

The Modi government at the Center is going to introduce a very important bill in the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament, which will allow the Registrar General of India (Registrar General) to maintain a national database of registration of births and deaths at the national level. This data can be used to update voter list, population register, Aadhaar, passport, ration card etc. The most important thing is that on attaining the age of 18, a ‘voter identity card’ will automatically be made and people will not have to visit the election offices for this, as well as it will also help in preventing bogus voting.

As per reports, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday (May 22) said that the move will streamline development in the country. Amit Shah also said that the next census will be done in electronic form, which will prove to be important for taking the development plans to every section of the society. Inaugurating the Janganana Bhavan or Janganana Bhawan in Delhi, he said, ‘We are going to bring a bill in Parliament to streamline development with data related to births, deaths and census. The Registrar General of India will also be the authority for the registration of births and deaths.

Amit Shah further said that with this change, the Election Commission will be connected with the office and data base of the Registrar General of India through a software and whenever a voter dies, its information will automatically reach the Election Commission through the software. The Commission shall, immediately after intimation of the death of the voter, adopt the proper procedure to strike off his name from the voter’s list. Shah said that in the same way, as soon as someone turns 18, his name will automatically be included in the voter list as a new voter and his voter card will be made.
