Uttar Pradesh: Roadways bus conductors will also have to accept 2000 notes by September 30! toll free number issued

The Reserve Bank of India has set a deadline of 30 September to exchange Rs 2,000 notes. Despite this, complaints were coming from the passengers for not taking 2000 notes as fare in roadways buses. The Transport Department has given instructions to take 2000 notes till 30 September. According to UP Transport Corporation’s PRO Ajit Singh, by September 30, 2023, bus conductors have been instructed to collect Rs 2,000 notes from passengers. Even after this, a complaint can be lodged against the bus conductors who do not accept Rs 2,000 notes from the passengers on toll free number 18001802877 with the bus number and the name of the bus depot.

Till now 186 complaints came for not taking two thousand notes

In the last two days, many complaints were lodged for not taking Rs 2,000 notes from the passengers traveling by bus. As many as 186 complaints have been received from around 32 depots across the state. In view of this, instructions have been given to the bus operator on Monday that there is no order not to accept Rs 2,000 notes. In such a situation, a note of two thousand rupees will have to be taken from the passengers instead of the fare. On the other hand, in the buses of the Transport Corporation, passengers are worried about non-payment of fare through online UPI. Many such complaints have been received by the Principal Manager IT of the Transport Corporation. After this, once again strict orders have been issued to bus conductors for payment of fare from passengers through cards from ETM machines.
