Session of Children’s Assembly will be held in Gairsain on June 5-6, Uttarakhand Child Rights Protection Commission will organize

The second session of the Children’s Assembly will be organized by the Uttarakhand Child Rights Protection Commission from June 5 to 6 in the summer capital Gairsain. Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan has given permission to hold the commission in the Gairsain assembly premises. In the year 2014, in order to ensure active participation of children in the system and system of Indian democracy at the state level, the State Child Rights Protection Commission, in collaboration with Plan International, formed the Children’s Assembly. In which 70 boys and girls in the age group of 14 to 18 from all the 13 districts of the state have been elected as child legislators. In which guidance is given to the selected MLAs of the Children’s Assembly constituted by the Assembly Speaker as mentors.

In the year 2022, the first session of the Fourth Child Assembly was organized. In which it was announced by the Speaker that the second session would also be held in Gairsain Assembly. In the same sequence, the child assembly session will be held on 5 and 6 June 2023.

On June 6, the Assembly Speaker will be the chief guest in the session. Vidhansabha Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan said that the aim of the program is to make children aware about the development of the country and the state from childhood and inculcate positive thinking. He said that a two-day summer session of the Bal Vidhan Sabha would be held in Gairsain in the first week of June. In the assembly session to be held in Gairsain, child legislators will raise various problems of the state and discuss the burning issues of the state. Along with this, child legislators who have done excellent work will also be rewarded.

Dr. Geeta Khanna, chairperson of the Uttarakhand Child Rights Protection Commission, wrote a letter to the Assembly Speaker for permission to hold the Children’s Assembly session in the Gairsain Assembly premises. On this the Speaker has given permission to the Commission.
