If Brij Bhushan participates in the inauguration of the new parliament, a message will go to the country: Vinesh
Vinesh Phogat said on Friday that if Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh attends the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament building on May 28, it would send a clear message about the current situation in the country.
The country’s top wrestlers, including Vinesh and Olympic medalists Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik, have been on a sit-in at Jantar Mantar since April 23. They have accused Brij Bhushan of sexually assaulting seven women players, including a minor, and are demanding the arrest of the WFI president.
The protesting wrestlers have decided to organize Mahila Mahapanchayat in front of the new Parliament House on Sunday for their demand. On this day Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Parliament House.
Asked what message would go if the WFI chief is present during the inauguration, Vinesh said, “If Brij Bhushan is present in the new Parliament on May 28, the entire country will automatically get the message.”
She said, “Whoever is trying to save Brij Bhushan is against us. I don’t know what is going on inside the government but someone is trying to save him and that is not right. He is harming the women of the country.”
