According to reports, two candidates from Madhya Pradesh—Ayesha Fatima from Dewas and Ayesha Makrani from Alirajpur—claimed the same 184th rank.

In a statement, the UPSC said that an internal investigation had found that Ayesha Makrani and another candidate Tushar Brijmohan from Rewari in Haryana forged their documents to claim that they had received “roll numbers of candidates actually selected”. was chosen by the UPSC in the Civil Services Examination 2022 instead.

Like Ayesha Makrani, Brijmohan reportedly claimed that he had the same 44th rank as Tushar Kumar, another candidate from Bhagalpur district in Bihar with the same name.

According to UPSC, both the candidates did not clear their preliminary examinations held last year and allegedly produced forged documents to move to the next stage of the examination.

According to media reports, an official of the Central Personnel Training Department said that a police complaint would be lodged against the suspects. “Since both the candidates never cleared the exam and remained private citizens of the country, they were held liable under sections 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating) and 420 (cheating and dishonesty) of the Indian Penal Code,” the official said. Where did the mess happen

According to media reports, earlier this week, both Fatima and Makrani claimed to have the same roll number- 7811744. UPSC said in its statement that Makrani had secured 22.22 marks in General Studies Paper-1 and 21.09 marks in Paper-2. It was found that the marks for the respective papers were much less than the cut-off marks of 88.22 and 66. “His original enrollment number is 7805064,” the statement said.

It further added, “She not only failed to qualify in Paper-II, but also obtained marks much lower than the cut-off marks in Paper-I for the unreserved category in the preliminary examination for the year 2022.” Were 88.22. Therefore, Ms. Ayesha Makrani failed in the preliminary examination stage itself and could not proceed to the next stage of examination.”

The case of both Tushar was also similar. According to the statement, both claimed to have the same enrollment number 1521306. The statement said, “One of them was Tushar Brijmohan from Rewari, Haryana and the other was Tushar Kumar from Bhagalpur, Bihar. Both claimed to have secured 44th rank in the UPSC exam. The UPSC statement said that Tushar Brijmohan of Rewari had failed to clear the first round of the exam and had forged documents.

According to the agency, Brijmohan had scored “minus 22.89 marks” in General Studies Paper-I and 44.73 marks in Paper-II. The statement said, “As per the requirement of the examination rules, he was required to obtain at least 66 marks in Paper-II. Thus even Tushar failed in the preliminary stage and could not proceed to the next stage of examination. Both Makrani and Brijmohan had violated the provisions of the Civil Services Examination, 2022 Rules.”
