A nurse who was in a live-in relationship with her lover died under suspicious circumstances. The relatives of the deceased accused the lover of poisoning her. Police detained two including the lover of the deceased. The deceased and her lover belong to different religions. After the incident came to the fore, some Hinduist organizations are demanding strict action giving it an angle of love jihad. However, the police is talking about both being in a live-in-relationship.
The nurse, a resident of a village in Lakhimpur district, was working as a nurse in a private hospital in Shahjahanpur for about one and a half months. Naveed Siddiqui, a resident of Uchailiya in Lakhimpur, works in a mobile company in Mohalla Lodhipur of the district. Both came in contact about a year and a half ago. After this, both were in a live-in relationship in a rented house in Lodhipur locality of Shahjahanpur, when the nurse’s health suddenly worsened on Saturday night, then lover youth Naved took her to the Government Medical College. Describing the girlfriend as his wife, the young man got her name Zoya Siddiqui written in BEST. The girl died during treatment. Seeing the commotion of the lover, the doctor informed the police. When the police reached the spot and inquired about the deceased from Naved, the matter turned out to be serious. The alleged lover’s girlfriend turned out to be of another religion. Police took the body into custody, Naved and his friend Mustkeen alias Pappu, and Farhad and sent the body to the post-mortem site.
Giving information to the media, SP City Sudhir Jaiswal said that the doctors informed about the suspicious death of a girl, after which the police interrogated the alleged husband Naved, then Naved told the whole story. He told that the girl’s real name is not Zoya, she is from Hindu religion, both of us were in live-in-relationship.
Here, the relatives of the deceased accused Naved of murder by poisoning. Police registered a case on the complaint of the family members. On hearing the case of Love Jihad, the people of the Hindu organization reached the Government Medical College. Rajesh Awasthi, a member of the Hindu organization, said that conversion is taking place in Shahjahanpur. The district is on top in the matter of love jihad. I demand from the police that the strictest action should be taken against the accused. Otherwise there will be agitation.
