Uttarakhand: In the meeting of Bada Udasin Akhara, Saints oppose same-sex marriage-live-in relationship

The Sant Samaj of Haridwar has supported the encroachment demolition action of the Uttarakhand government. Saints demanded Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to speed up this campaign and demolish the encroachment within 15 days. In the meeting organized by the saints of Shri Panchayati Bada Udasin Akhara at Hare Ram Ashram, the saints also discussed land jihad and gay marriage. In the meeting, the saints unanimously opposed gay marriage and said that it is not our culture. We strongly oppose this and will continue to do so.

Mahamandaleshwar Swami Rupendra Prakash of Panchayati Bada Udasin Akhara said that Uttarakhand is Devbhoomi and an attempt is being made to spoil the form of Devbhoomi by running land jihad here in a planned manner. Saints have demanded action on all illegal religious places from CM Dhami within 15 days.

On the other hand, Mahant Durgadas, secretary of Bade Udasin Akhara, expressed concern about same-sex marriage and live-in relationship. He said that this is not our culture. The culture of western countries is being adopted by the youth of India who need to be made aware. We strongly oppose this. He said that now an awareness campaign will be launched by him in which the youth will be made aware to stay away from these wrong ideologies.

It is noteworthy that recently on May 26 and 27, a two-day meeting of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s Central Margdarshak Mandal was organized. Conversion, same-sex marriage and live-in relationship were also discussed in the meeting. It was decided in the meeting that all women saints will conduct public awareness across the country 15 days before and 15 days after the upcoming Diwali. With this, women and girls of the society will be made aware.
