North Korea Satellite Launch: Big blow to dictator Kim, spy mission fails, satellite crashes in air
The nefarious designs of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un have suffered a major setback. He was trying to launch a spy satellite, but soon after launching the satellite got destroyed in the air. North Korea later reported that its first military spy satellite crashed in the West Sea. A 12-day window was planned to install the satellite in orbit, but the mission failed on Wednesday itself in the first attempt.
The dictator named the satellite as Cheollima-1. As soon as the North Korean Space Agency started the countdown, it is believed that only then there was a fault in the engine. The two engines were supposed to start simultaneously as soon as the launch trigger was pressed, but the engine started abnormally, causing scientists to lose control of the satellite. The dictator’s spy rocket was to be launched at 6.29 am local time. It was to be launched from the Space Center located in Tonchang County, North Pyongyang.
South Korea issues warning to citizens
South Korea was also on alert before North Korea’s satellite launch. Shortly before the launch, it is said that South Korea had also issued a warning for its citizens. In Seoul, people were advised to go to their homes. It is said that if crackers are burst in celebration in North Korea, then an alert is issued in South Korea. However, later South Korea told that the warning was issued by mistake.
Satellite launching violates UN rules
North Korea announced on Tuesday that it would put its military spy satellite into orbit between May 31 and June 11. The United Nations has banned the use of ballistic missile technology for North Korea. The launching of the satellite violates this rule of the UN. South Korea, Japan and America opposed the satellite launching. The satellite was to be launched from Space Launch Vehicles.
