Shooting: Defending champion Yuvika Elizarasi became the winner in 10 meter air pistol, Manu Bhaker got bronze

Madras University’s S Elijarasi won the 10m air pistol gold medal amid international shooters like Asian Games medalist Manu Bhaker, Yuvika Tomar and Shikha Narwal. Alizarasi (238.9) defeated defending champion and Baghpat resident Yuvika Tomar (237) of Shakambari University, Varanasi in the final at Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi. Manu Bhaker, playing from Panjab University, Chandigarh, won the bronze with a score of 217.1. On the other hand, Hemchand Yadav University’s weightlifter Dnyaneshwari Yadav, who won silver in Junior World Weightlifting, won gold in 49 weight category with a weight of 173 kg.

GNDU won two gold in shooting
Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar dominated the shooting on Tuesday. Gold in 10m air pistol team event GNDU’s Devanshi Dhama, Khushi Tomar, Devanshi’s team defeated Bharti Singh, Shikha Narwal, Sakshi of MDU Rohtak. Poshika, Bulbul Sagar and Himanshi Kashyap of Chaudhary Charan Singh University won bronze medals. In skeet, Arjun Thakur of GNDU won gold with 56 points and Gurnihal Garcha won silver with 53 points. PU’s Parinaz Dhaliwal and Tavleen Gill won gold and silver in the women’s event

Weightlifter Akash became the winner in 55 weight category
Anjali Patel of Mahatma Gandhi Kashi University won gold with a weight of 149 kg in the 45 weight category of weightlifting in Greater Noida. In men’s 55 weight category, Akash Gaur of Swami Ramanand Tirath University won gold with 228 kg. In the 61 weight category, S Saurabh of Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam won the gold with 245 kg.

Javelin throw winner Vikrant Malik with 80m
Vikrant Malik of Kalinga Institute won gold in javelin throw in Lucknow. Vikrant from Haryana also won gold in the last Khelo India University Games. Due to injury, different shoes in both feet, first Vikram threw 80 meters javelin. Inspired by Neeraj Chopra, Vikrant has become the 10th javelin thrower in the country to touch the 80m distance. In tennis, Savitribai Phule University won the gold medal by defeating Osmania University 2-0 in the final and Anna University defeated Bhartihar University 2-1 in the men’s final.
