“Twin Town” the unique village of the country, here twins are born in every house, even scientists could not solve the mystery
You must have heard about many strange villages. There is a village in India too, which is very famous all over the world. You will find many twins in this village. This village is called the village of twins. Twins are born in almost every household here. On the one hand where 9 out of 1000 twins are born in the world, 45 out of 1000 twins are born in this village of India. Scientists from all over the world did research on the people of this village, but till date they could not find out why there are so many twins in this village.
We are talking about Kodinhi village in Malappuram district of Kerala. So far more than 400 twins have been born in this village. The number of twins is continuously increasing rapidly. In the year 2008, the list of 280 twins of this village was revealed. After this this village came into limelight. The population of this village is around 2000. People from all over the world go to visit this village. When you go to this village, you will see a board here, on which it is written- ‘Welcome to God’s twin village – Kodinhi’.
Started three generations ago
As per reports, in 2008, around 300 women gave birth to healthy babies here. Of these, 15 pairs of twins were born. After this the number of twins is increasing with each passing year. The villagers tell that the process of birth of twins in this village started about three generations ago. Doctor Krishnan Sribiju from Kerala has been trying to find out the mystery of this village for many years. Dr. Biju says that this miracle started somewhere 60 to 70 years ago in the village. The number of twins in Kodinhi has doubled in the last 10 years. He believes that this incident has nothing to do with the food habits of the villagers.
Scientists from all over the world investigated
In 2016, a group of researchers from India, London and Germany did research here to investigate this incredible phenomenon happening in the village. Scientists took DNA samples of the villagers. For this, they collected hair and saliva samples of the villagers. But there was no specific and accurate result of the efforts of the scientists.
Came to know for the first time
The people of this village did not realize about this unique thing of the village for a long time. The villagers had never noticed this unusual phenomenon. But a few years ago, Sameera and Femina, two twin sisters from the village, notice in their class that there are 8 pairs of twins. After this he noticed the children of other classes of the school. They found that there were twins in all the classes. Together with his friends, he worked on this topic in a school assignment. It was then learned that there were 24 pairs of twins in their school. Slowly the villagers noticed this discovery of the two sisters.
Village known as Twin Town
Kodinhi village is now known as Twin Town. The Twins and Kin Association (TAKA) has also been established to provide registration and support for the twins and their families. Since the cost of raising twins can be high, and it proves a physically arduous task for the mother to raise them, Taka takes care of educating and supporting the villagers.
